What our clients say

Versilia Riviera

The Versilia is the name given to 16 kilometres of coastline on the Northwest of Tuscany and its hinterlands which back onto the pre Apuan Alps. An area popular originally with Italian families from Milan and Rome, searching for an ideal area in which to buy or build a Summer home. In the mid nineties the entire family, with exclusion of the main breadwinner, would spend June to September in this lovely region. Over the decades that followed the Versilian Riviera was discovered by an International clientele, due to its bio and geodiversity but also its towns; Pietrasanta, Forte dei Marmi and nearby cities such as Pisa, Lucca and Florence. Pietrasanta became known as the ‘Little Athens’ due to its amazing wealth of art and culture which brought forth an internationally frequented Artist hub, which grew thanks to its famous bronze casting foundries, as well as top class artisan stone cutters. Amongst these renamed artists Mitoraj and Botero, to whom a Museum is presently being constructed.

The city today offers an open-air museum with a fantastic collection of artworks scattered throughout the town, amongst the chic boutiques, lovely caffès lining its main square and numerous eating establishments. Forte dei Marmi has always been a preferred playground for VIPs from all walks of life, a place to stroll around and ‘see’ or ‘be seen’ with its designer shops and lovely pier. With Pisa international airport just 30 minutes drive away the access and number of daily planes from all over Europe make this a great getaway area, even for a weekend stayover.
